Prepare for Air Transport Emergencies – VFW Member Benefits

VFW members should never leave home without a pre-paid emergency assistance plan. Accidents, injuries and illness can happen anywhere. An annual membership plan provides emergency air transportation by plane and helicopter, as well as ground ambulance transfers to and from hospitals. It also includes vehicle return, mortal remains transportation, child/grandchildren transport and more.

A single flight can cost $50,000 or more and air ambulance companies requ payment in advance. Trying to come up woth tha kind of money in an emergency can be a heavy burden. Pre-paid emergency assistance coverage pays for all of the costs involved in a medical transport.

This is not the same as travel insurance. The difference between annual membership plans and travel insurance is significant. Travel insurance is limited to the time you are away from home, and you typically pay a per diem rate, whereas an annual membership is permanent coverage.

Better yet, you are working with the actual provider of services who allows physicians to determine where and when to fly you instead of dealing with an insurance adjuster – that is a huge difference. The annual membership plan also protects you at home, including flights to VA hospitals at your option.

The best thing of all for VFW members is that coverage includes your legal dependents. With the proper membership plan you are guaranteed flights to the right hopital to treat your particular needs and then get ou home from anywhere in the world.
