Obituary – Roy Hannon Bixler

Roy Hannon Bixler, 73, of Havelock, died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011, at his home.

He retired as a Major from the Marine Corps, held the position of Chaplain in Chapter 26 Havelock of the Disabled American Veterans as well as being an active member of VFW Post 7315 Havelock.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Cherry Point Baptist Church, 210 Church Road, Havelock.

Interment with military honors will be at Forest Oaks Memorial Gardens, 908 Lake Road, Havelock.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sybilene Bixler of Havelock; three daughters, Tammy Ogle of California, Md., Kaiya Bunn of Jacksonville and Wendy Littrell of Havelock; and six grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Woodbridge Funeral Home Chapel, 908 Lake Road, Havelock.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Cherry Point Baptist Building Fund, 210 Church Road, Havelock, NC 28532.
