VA Life Insurance Coverage Increases

VA announced in November that the maximum amount of its Veterans Mortgage Life insurance (VMLI) increased from $150,000 to $200,000 effective Jan 1, 2012. It had previously increased from $90,000 to $150,000 on Oct. 1, 2011.

VMLI is issued to severely disabled vets who have received grants for specially adapted housing from VA. Eligible VMLI policyholders received letters notifying them of several options.
